Carolina blue jay, Appalachian pine,
early in the morning,
as the sun begins to shine,
crackling up a hollow,
flitting in the breeze,
waking all creation up,
sassy as you please,
chasing off a red squirrel,
fast as he can climb,
Carolina blue jay, Appalachian pine.
